The four areas of competition that contestants will compete in for the 2018 American Dream National Titles are:
Personal Interview (40% of total score)
National Queens in the American Dream Pageant system must be able to express themselves verbally and have excellent conversational and social skills. Each contestant will be interviewed by our panel of judges one at a time while standing behind a podium. Interviews will be 5 minutes long. Questions in the interview will be based on your Contestant Resume that you turn into the national office. No current event or controversial questions will be asked unless it directly relates to your platform. The judges just want to get to know you, what kind of work you do in the community, and why they should select you to represent our system in the coming year.
On-Stage Question (10% of total score)
Contestants will be given 30 seconds to answer a question provided by the judges based on the information on their resume.
Fun Fashion Wear (25% of total score)
This is your opportunity to show off your sense of style and modeling skills. Each contestant will model an outfit of their choice that expresses their sense of style and personality. The outfit should be upbeat, trendy, and age appropriate. It can be a short cocktail dress, a jumpsuit – or anything in between. It can be as simple or ornate as you would like. No props or denim permitted. Judges will be judging on your on stage presentation and how well your outfit choice flatters you.
Evening Gown (25% of total score)
Contestants must project beauty, elegance, and sophistication in a floor length gown that is age appropriate, and displays their own sense of style. Judges will not be judging the price or designer of the gown, but how well it suits you (i.e. fit, color, style) and your on-stage presentation.
